ALMA
A reclining chair platform shaped through mechanism development, supplier collaboration, and hands-on validation.

Development
From mechanical intent to a complete chair.
Working within a small development team led by the owner’s product vision, I developed counterbalance and motion-control components through CAD refinement, functional prototypes, and supplier collaboration. The assembled chair demonstrates the resulting recline behavior.
Industrialization
Design decisions carried through to testing.
Supplier communication, first-article inspection, and in-house testing connected design intent to physical parts. This board distinguishes ALMA 100 development work from the ALMA 200 third-party validation report and my more limited component role on that model.

Platform
One system, multiple expressions.
The family brings together seven base options, three arm styles, and three back heights. A shared mechanical foundation supports variation at the product level.
